Bug Bug and Butters Cats

Meet: BUG BUG and BUTTERS

Ok, we admit to having strange names, but we didn't chose them! Bug Bug - I'm the mother of Butters and a year older (6). I've got longer fur and am more outgoing and playful, not that my little girl isn't playful, but she likes to see what I get into first, just in case! Butters - I'm the daughter with shorter fur and a quiet manner to me. I'm 5 years old. I'm more interested in watching the silly things mom gets into like catnip, and then if she looks like she's having fun I join in. Better to let Mom show me the way! We are both black and white tuxedo cats looking for a home together, full of love and places to explore. Oh yes, and a big bed for both of us would be extra special.

WELCOME!

We Need Foster Homes! We always try to Foster kittens out/away from the Shelter. We are always looking for Foster Care Volunteers. It is usually a 5 to 8 week period. We provide food, litter and medical care. We also take care of the adoptions. All you need is a separate area from your own animals and some TLC. We would prefer that you live in the Quincy area. In case of medical emergency, we like to have people who live nearby and could transport the animal to either the Shelter or the VCA Animal Hospital in Weymouth. If you are interested. please let us know.

    About Us

The Quincy Animal Shelter is a volunteer-run organization. The Shelter relies completely on our volunteers and the community for support. Incorporated in November 1999 as a non-profit Massachusetts charity, we are also a recognized charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Since 1999 the Quincy Animal Shelter has placed more than 5,000 cats and dogs into loving and forever homes through out MA and New England.

    • As a "no kill" shelter, we make every effort to find the right home for every animal in our care. This means we exercise the same ethical and humane treatment of animals in our facility that you would for your own family feline or canine friend. Every animal receives age-appropriate vaccinations and, if old enough, is spayed or neutered before finding its forever family.
    • Delivering this type of care involves many volunteers, an active and dedicated management, and a lot of money. Our budget runs approximately $100,000 every year in order to keep doing what we do to help the dogs and cats of Quincy. Please visit our Volunteer and Wish List pages to find out about ways you can help.
    • Our capacity at the Shelter is limited to a maximum of 12 dogs and 15 to 25 cats, depending on ages and condition of the cats. Our dream is to eventually find a larger facility so that we can continue our mission on a larger scale and serve the continuous needs of the community and the animals.
