There is a minimum $35 surrender fee per animal, this fee may be increased if an animal is not up to date on vaccines or is not altered.
All prior medical records must accompany the pet.
When the Shelter is at full capacity, we maintain a waiting list.
Animals previously adopted from the Quincy Animal Shelter get first preference.
Pets that are up to date on their vaccinations will get preference over pets that have not received any medical care.
ALL dogs should have Rabies, Distemper and Bortadella vaccinations, and ALL cats need Rabies, Distemper and a combo test (Felv & FIV).

The Quincy Animal Shelter is a 100% volunteer-run organization. The Shelter has NO PAID STAFF and relies completely on our volunteers and the community for support. Incorporated in November 1999 as a non-profit Massachusetts charity, we are also a recognized charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Since 1999 the Quincy Animal Shelter has placed more than 5,000 cats and dogs into loving and forever homes through out MA and New England.
